Failure Analysis of Gantry Crane Slewing Bearing Based on Gear Position Accuracy Error

In large ports, shipyards, and other places of handling operations, gantry cranes are widely used. As a typical slewing crane, its slewing-bearing gear ring is prone to tooth breakage problems due the existence long-term complex alternating load. This paper presents new fault analysis method based on position accuracy error. Firstly, relative displacement relationship between pinion teeth stress nature were analyzed through establishment rotary table structure, bearing, cylinder structure assembly finite element model. addition, dynamic data acquisition instrument resistance strain gauge separately applied analyze along with for test The final results show that under frontal load condition, horizontal deviation approximately 2.9 mm, which leads an increase 23% in value upper root at engagement ring, causing extrusion accelerating fatigue even fracture teeth.
